After almost 40 years in existence, where VMA have actively focused on telecom industry service applications and customer experience, and have pioneered international mobile technology standards, in partnership with ITU, forming strong business alliances, and lasting global friendships, the VMA Board wishes to announce that we shall not be hosting our originally planned annual conference this year, scheduled for September in Madrid, and in addition our Association will be disbanding.
Our Chairman, and the rest of VMA Board, past and present, would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Sponsors, over the years, for the key role that you have played in supporting our activities, and conferences, since 1987, which since that time have been held across Europe, and in USA.
Our thanks are also extended to the many Telecom Operators, who as our Hosts, have welcomed us in your respective countries, providing vital local logistical insight, and support for us to achieve the unique atmosphere, and success at each conference venue.
An array of world class presenters, from some of our industries leading brands, have informed, and enlightened, our delegates, over the years, where in many cases, they were among the first to have made presentations on what are now global household names, for industry products, and services.
Also key to our achievement of the unique, friendly atmosphere experienced at our conferences, are our delegates, whose engagement, and willingness to share ideas, knowledge, and experiences, also contributed to VMA’s longevity.
From the time of VMA’s formation, as “Club of Bern,” by Rene Beusch, of SwissCom and Paul Finnigan, in USA, in association with Klaus Dieter Liedtke of Deutsche Telecom, an array of colleagues, have contributed, their time and energy, to honour the Charter of VMA, and delivery our annual conferences.
Our current VMA Chairman, Mark McIlvane, President, Bertrand Gatellier, and all Board member reflect with a sense of achievement, on our unique contribution, and experiences, during our time with VMA.
VMA Board member’s email addresses, will still be accessible for the foreseeable future.
For our members, guests, and friends over the years, a few images have also been provided below, to recall some fond memories, and friends.
Thank you, and continued success in all your endeavours,
