The VMA has always been a non-for-profit organisation and this is not going to change
Our aim is to provide an environment conducive to exchanges between stakeholders without any commercial pressure
The VMA activities, throughout the year and during the conferences, are supported and provided by our members on a voluntary basis. There is no salary involved for anyone and all our efforts are "From members for members"
Over the last 30 years, we have evolved to embrace always more technologies and services. As a result, our main focus today is around Customer Experience, User Experience, Messaging and Value added services; all of which irrespective of the format and channel
Within the industry, the VMA is enjoying a solid reputation of diversity and neutrality. Acknowledging that we need to permanently rejuvenate our image, we intend to keep and leverage our VMA name
Our independance from any vendor, operator or service provider is paramount to our success and we welcome support from any stakeholder in the industry who shares our values
We are currently working on our 2017 conference which will also celebrate our 30th anniversary. It is anticipated to take place late September or early October
The format, although not finalised yet, will encompass plenary sessions, workshops and round-table discussions and we are trying to involve end-users in a number of the sessions
Whilst vendors can contribute to leading some workshops, we maintain our model whereby presentations will only be delivered by customers (operators, service providers and companies) willing to share their experience with other participants
As we are not trying to generate any profit from the conference, it is on purpose that we keep its size and format to a size which allows to meet and get to know each and every participant.
